How do I get an Anthropic API key?

Create your Anthropic API key

1. Sign in to the Claude Console for the organization you want to use.
2. Open Settings, then API keys, and choose Create key.
3. Name the key, choose an expiration, and link it to your own account. Scope it to one workspace for use in StackMango.
4. Create the key and copy its secret to a safe place.

StackMango currently asks for a key, but has no field for an Anthropic workspace ID. A key scoped to one workspace avoids needing to supply a workspace ID with requests.

Save it in StackMango

1. Open Settings and find Provider connections.
2. Select Anthropic, paste the API key, and choose Save key.

Security and provider costs

Anthropic API usage is billed through your Anthropic account. Review your balance and usage there before running tools. If a key expires or is exposed, create a replacement in the Claude Console, update the saved key in StackMango, and disable or delete the old key.
