DataForSEO uses two API credentials
DataForSEO does not issue a single API key for standard API access. It gives you an API login and a separate API password. The API password is different from the password you use to sign in to the DataForSEO Dashboard.
Find your API login and password
- Create a DataForSEO account or sign in to its Dashboard.
- Open API Access from the left menu or the shortcut at the top of the Dashboard.
- Copy the API login and API password to a secure location.
DataForSEO shows the API password in the Dashboard only during the first 24 hours after registration. Later, use Send by e-mail in API Access to receive it at your account email address.
Save them in StackMango
- Open Settings and find Provider connections.
- Select DataForSEO.
- Paste your API login and API password into their separate fields, then choose Save.
Use the API password from API Access, not the password you use to sign in to the DataForSEO Dashboard. Only enter these credentials in the secure Provider connections form.
Security and provider costs
Treat both credentials, and any Base64-encoded version of them, as secrets. Do not send them through the StackMango contact form. Check your DataForSEO balance and spending limits in its Dashboard before making API requests.
